Frequently asked questions
Short, practical answers grouped by topic.
Exness App
The mobile app combines account management and trading in one place: open and close positions, view charts with indicators, manage watchlists, check account balance and margin, handle deposits and withdrawals, and receive price or account notifications.
The most common causes are using the trading account number where the registered email is required, an incorrect server selection in MetaTrader, an expired session after a password change, or an unstable connection. Confirm the server name shown in your account area before retrying.
Registration
Typically an email address, country of residence, a strong password and a short trading experience questionnaire. Identity and address documents are requested at the verification stage.
MT4
MT4 remains popular because of its enormous library of expert advisors and custom indicators, and because it is lightweight on older hardware. If you rely on those tools, MT4 is still a reasonable choice.
MT5
MT5 adds more timeframes, more built-in indicators, an economic calendar, depth of market, additional pending order types and a faster strategy tester. Its programming language is different, so MT4 expert advisors do not transfer directly.
Web Terminal
No. The web terminal runs in a modern browser, which makes it useful on locked-down work computers or shared machines. Charting and order handling are available, but some advanced desktop features are not.
Trading
One standard lot is 100,000 units of the base currency for a currency pair. Metals, energies and indices use their own contract sizes, which is why every instrument page lists the contract specification separately.
Deposits
Electronic payment methods and crypto transfers are usually credited within minutes once the network confirms. Bank transfers depend on the sending institution and can take one to several working days.
Withdrawals
Anti-money-laundering rules generally require funds to return through the same channel used to deposit, up to the deposited amount. Any remaining profit can then be sent to an alternative verified method.
Verification
A government-issued photo ID and a recent proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement. Documents must be legible, in colour, unedited and within the accepted date range.
Security
Use a unique password stored in a password manager, enable two-factor authentication, never share credentials with a so-called account manager, and only download platforms from official sources.
Spreads
Spreads reflect available liquidity. They widen around the daily rollover, at market open after the weekend and during high-impact news releases, then normalise once liquidity returns.
Leverage
Leverage changes the margin required to open a position, not the profit per pip. It increases both the size you can control and the speed at which losses consume your balance, so it is a risk multiplier rather than a return multiplier.
Trading Hours
Share CFDs follow the trading hours of the underlying exchange. Outside those hours, there is no reference market to price against, so the instrument is closed and can gap when it reopens.
Calculators
The formulas are the standard industry formulas, so results are accurate for the inputs you provide. Because the reference prices here are indicative demonstration values, always confirm the final figures in your live platform before trading.
